Welcome To The Home Of Igbo Association Tampa Bay Inc
The Igbo Association Tampa Bay, Inc. is a social-cultural, non-political and non-profit organization, which membership comprises of residents who trace their heritage to the Igbo indigenous people of South Eastern Nigeria.
The Igbo people in the Tampa Bay area got together in the summer 1996 to launch the local Igbo Association, as is done by Igbos in diaspora, in different parts of the world.
The aims and objectives of the organization, among others include bringing all Igbo people together:
§ by fostering unity and camaraderie among members.
§ to cater for the legitimate interests and welfare of our members.
§ to promote the education about the traditions, cuisine, arts and culture of the Igbo people, to our teeming children and the interested public.
§ to support and identify with other charitable organizations & activities that benefit the local host communities.
As a charitable organization, we believe in, and strive towards giving back to the host communities. To this end, the Association participates in several annual community outreach programs, including Paint Your Hearts Out Tampa Bay, Feeding Tampa Bay, Back to School giveaways, Picnics and the Igbo Cultural Day.
